Slowly but Surely

Slowly but surely, that is how the LFD experiment is going. It seems when I pug solo, the LHBs come out more often than when I group with guildies first. Probably because if they see we're from the same server, they figure they're out-numbered on the vote-kick. Little do they know that as a group we have never initiated a vote-kick. So generally, in an attempt at sanity conservation, I do my LFD pugs with Kreios/Aradia/Odie. Anyways ... quick up-date:

H Old Kingdom: Kreios, Aradia and I group up and 2-3 seconds later we find ourselves in Old Kingdom with a Shammy healing and a Hunter for dps. I drop a fish feast, we feast on fish. And then we're off. I pull the first 2 mobs at the bottom, but that wasn't enough for the hunter and he pulled some more. Ok, I said, we'll deal with it. Then I pull a pack and he pulls even more. And more. That's when I start saying that maybe this is one group we ought to just leave. We see the Shammy bite it, then we went down and all that was left was the Hunter (must have been using some sort of threat re-direction to last that long) and this is what really blew me away: The healer is dead. The tank is dead. The other 2 dps are dead. And .... he's still pulling more! Needless to say, the healer left group, Kreios and Aradia left group, the hunter got the hint and left, and there I am thinking that was probably the most bone-headed, bozo-brained, goof-ball display of absolute insanity I have ever seen in WoW. In skype, we're just idly chatting away the time, waiting for the leave timer to wear off Kreios and Aradia (I didn't get the de-buff timer because everybody else left before I did) and when it did we queue'd up again and got:

H Nexus: The 3 of us, a Priest and a DK. Once, it appeared that the DK's ghoul was on aggressive, but aside from that it went smooth as silk. Now when I say smooth, I mean smooth. We're talking $5 milk shake smooth. When we got to Stoutbeard I typed in party chat, "I'm pulling Stoutbeard back here ... fair warning", and don't you know the Priest and the DK backed up. They actually read what I typed and responded with action. Never saw that in a pug before. I kid you not, I have never seen that before. The closest I've seen to that is when I ask the party "Ready?" and someone jumps up and down. That's it. And I don't even see that any more.

After all was said and done, Kreios, Aradia and I all said thanks (we always do, that's one of the things that makes us Champions and everyone else ... not) and the other 2 didn't leave right away, as if they were deciding whether to say anything back, but then they did leave without saying anything.

The coolest thing about that run though? Aradia got her pug pet! Grats to the Mage!

So the score is:

PFTW = 8
PFTF = 3
LHB = 2

The gap between wins and fails is closing, but the total is still a rather small sampling. We'll see what the ratio is when we get more runs in. Slowly, but surely. I think it may be time to start pugging with Van ... I guess it's only fair that I should experience the "dps queue time" as well! No Dalaran Roulette for Van!

In case you are not familiar with Dalaran Roulette, it's a game where tanks jump off of Dalaran (actually we jumped off the island floating next to Krasus Landing), THEN join the queue in the LFD. Zaph and Kreios grouped before trying it once and we were probably 10-20 feet from hitting the ground and doing the big splatter-roo, when we got the loading screen for the dungeon. And when the run was done we were transported right where we were when we left! 10-20 feet above the ground! Landed with nary a scratch! Try it some time ... with a Tank! It's a rush!
